Ballindalloch Castle Golf Course

Nestled within the grounds of one of Scotland’s most picturesque estates, Ballindalloch Castle Golf Course is a premium 9-hole layout that blends scenic tranquillity with high-quality design. Opened in 2002 and situated deep in Speyside near the banks of the River Avon, the course is one of the finest modern additions to Moray Speyside’s golf scene.

Designed by Donald Steel and Tom MacKenzie—renowned for their work on Royal Dornoch and Skibo Castle—the course has a traditional Highland feel, with wide fairways, natural water hazards, and stunning backdrops of woodland and mountain scenery. Despite being only 9 holes, the course features alternate tees for the back nine and plays like a true 18-hole layout.

The standout 3rd/12th is a par 3 played over a burn to a tucked-away green, while several longer holes offer views of Ballindalloch Castle itself, rising elegantly behind the trees. The course is always beautifully presented and offers a peaceful, unhurried experience ideal for couples or small groups.

Ballindalloch is part of a working estate, and its golf course is one of the best-kept secrets in the region. Visitors can combine golf with distillery tours, garden walks, and local food and drink options, making it a perfect cultural addition to any golf trip.

Why Play Here: Ballindalloch offers refined, scenic golf in a castle estate setting—ideal for a relaxed and elegant round in the heart of Moray Speyside.

Combine the spirit of Speyside with beautifully designed golf at Ballindalloch.
